This movement is an Elgin grade 96.

It's 18 size, 7 jewels, and lever-setting, made about 1890. 

The secondary serial number stamps on all the major parts of this movement are prefixed with an 'N'.

Here is a nice look at the earlier English style escapement, having the pallet tangential to the escape wheel.
