Waltham Seaside

The winding/setting parts, or "keyless works", on the old Walthams is significantly more complicated than most of what Elgin produced. There are just more parts for one thing.

This watch is an 1891 model, Seaside, American Waltham. It is 0 size, with 7 jewels. Its gold hunter case is one of the most striking that I have ever seen.

This is a 0 size Waltham, Seaside 1891 model, made about 1895 in a fantastic gold hunter case.

These first images show Waltham's winding/setting mechanism, or "keyless works", including the "shipper".
