A Grade 303, Rusty

This watch was sunk with the USS Yorktown at the battle of Midway in June 1942.

It is a grade 303 Elgin, 12 size, 7 jewels, made about 1938.

It took weeks to get the screws out and thus the plates apart.  Almost all of the steel parts were unusable.

This is the mainspring.
