This Hamilton is an open face movement, having the stem at 12:00, in a hunter case. Note the sub-seconds dial is 180 degrees from the stem.
A hunter movement has the sub-seconds dial 90 degrees from the stem so that, with a typical dial installed, 12:00 will by "up" when the watch is opened to the left as pictured here.
This movement is railroad grade. It might have originally in an open case case, as railroads typically required.
