Elgintime Vintage Horological: Large Elgin

Does anyone know anything about this Elgin wristwatch? The movement is a common one with an approximate year of 1929. This watch case is however very much unusually large for the time. Is this an Elgin product, or a custom piece?

The movement is a grade 430.
