Elgin Grade 152

Here's a nice grade 152, featuring a micro-regulator and gold bezels, all in a gold hunting case.

This is a 16 size, 15 jewel movement, made about 1900.

I have this exact watch, which was my grandfathers. He came over from Sweden about 1915 and worked for US Steel in Pittsburgh, Pa. He passed away in 1939. My cousins and sister also still have shares of US Steel (USX now) purchased approx. 90 years ago. I will never sell them.

Is the case on this 152 gold? Is there an approximate value? The watch still works Thanks

Sorry, I don't do appraisals.

Cases and movements do not go together in any set way, so there's no way to know about the case from what movement it has inside. In early times cases and movements were purchased separately at the point of sale. Elgin never made pocketwatch cases.
