A Trip to the Ballgame, 1927
This photo shows some Elgin watch factory employees out for the day. It is labeled on the back, "Machine Room, Trip to the Ballgame, Aug. 26 1927". Looks like fun. The bus is marked "Special".

Elgin Grade 80
This grade 80 is an H. H. Taylor named movement. Taylor was a director of the Elgin National Watch Co. in 1867. You can find more about the early years of the company here.

Here's an Elgin grade 74, in a typical open-faced nickle case, threaded front and back. This one was made about 1890.

This is a lever-set, 18 size, 15 jewel movement with a micro-regulator.
This one, made about 1893, is in a swing-out case, nickle, (or a variation of nickle) as is pretty typical for men's watches of this era.

Here's nice looking movement...
The grade 142 is another 18 size lever-set movement, with 15 jewels.
This one was made in about 1896. It features nicely blued screws, including the jewel bezel screws, gold bezels and a gilded regulator index.
The base metal case is pretty clearly newer than the movement, but that's alright.
