ELGIN, IlL - Elgin National Watch Company's annual report to stockholders has been awarded first place among clock and watch industry reports, the company was notified today. A bronze "Oscar," emblematic of the honor, was presented the night of October 4 at a banquet in the Waldorf-Astoria, New York.

A committee of five judged the Elgin National Watch Company report best in its field. It was comprised of Dr. Lewis Haney, chairman; C. Norman Stabler, financial editor, New York Herald-Tribune; Glenn Griswold, publisher of Public Relations News; Sylvia F. Porter, financial editor, New York Post, and Lester Tichy, industrial designer and artist.

Weston Smith, vice president of Financial World, directed the magazine's sixth annual survey and announced the award.

He stated that the annual financial reports of 3,000 companies in 80 different industries were examined in this year's competition.
