This watch had a broken lower pallet jewel - broken right in half, and half was still there. The third photo here shows the tool used to re-bevel in the jewel.

Here we can see the Swiss-style lever escapement in the upper part of the image.
This watch is a grade 141 Elgin. It is 18 size, 15 jewels, lever-set, made about 1896, in a very heavy nickle alloy case.
